When I contemplated becoming a life coach, I had no idea where it would take me. All I knew was that I wanted to help people achieve more fulfilling relationships with their romantic partners, family members and friends. Now, 3 years later, I’ve taken that vision a step further, with the hope that I can reach even more people than before.
In my coaching practice, many of my clients’ experiences shared a common thread of weakness – inadequate communication. It’s amazing how we can share so much of ourselves with other people, yet at the same time hold back even more. Don’t get me wrong, I’m guilty of it too, which is how I landed here. I got the idea to combine both of the things I love to do, writing and helping people, to somehow put a spotlight on common relationship deficiencies. I didn’t want to do it in a self-help kind of way, but instead use fiction and humor (with a dash of spice!) to get the message across.
I have finished my first novel, entitled Smoke and Mirrors – The Secret Life of a Cheater, and it’s getting great reviews. It’s a mixture of my personal experience with infidelity in a long-term relationship, and some interesting ideas from my clients. Hopefully it will have the desired effect, and the character flaws depicted will resonate with somebody. (You know we can always see the flaws in our friends relationships, but not our own….) If it helps even one person improve an unfulfilling relationship, then I have been successful.
I want to thank all of the people who have read Smoke and Mirrors, and encourage those who haven’t read it, to do so. Keep in mind, it contains adult themes…
In the meantime, thank you for taking a glimpse of the world through my eyes. Enjoy the scenery!!
